The Coast Dermatology Doctors are trained in the newest and most advanced medical and surgical techniques and are at the cutting edge of cosmetic dermatology, laser, vein and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Horowitz attended and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in Lansing, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He attended medical school in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated with a D.O. degree in 1968. He performed his internship at Botsford-Zeiger Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He then did a 3-year residency in Dermatology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a 1-year fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Children's Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After completing his residency in Dermatology, Dr. Horowitz moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he entered private practice, and continued to practice in Florida for 16 years. Dr. Horowitz moved to Torrance, California in 1990, and has been in private practice since that time.
Dr. Horowitz has actively participated in training programs for Dermatologists in Florida, as well as in California. He is certified by the American Acadamy of Dermatology, and was voted Outstanding Resident of the Year in 1973 at Wayne State University. He was also honored with the Degree of Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology in 1975. For the last several years, Dr. Horowitz has been a Board Examiner for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and has served on many of its committees. Throughout his career, he has played an active role in educational projects on the national level.

Dr. Mark Horowitz practices medicine at Coast Dermatology Medical Associates. After completing his training at Michigan State University over 10 years ago, he has mastered some of the most advanced techniques available in dermatology and cosmetic surgery today. Dr. Mark Horowitz is an expert in general and surgical dermatology. He has advanced skills in skin cancer detection and Mohs micrographic surgery to treat large and difficult tumors of the skin. He also specializes in cosmetic laser treatments to improve the signs of aging and wrinkling of the skin.
Besides his advanced surgical training, he has developed a special interest in chronic rashes that result from allergic reactions. He has developed a patch test center which can detect offending chemicals in your environment that may be producing the rash. Our office is one of the few medical practices offering this advanced service in southern California.

In addition to his surgical training, Dr. Lehfeldt is involved in numerous clinical research activities and educational conferences. He has authored continuing medical education articles for his colleagues and was part of a team of specialists at Children's Hospital Los Angeles that successfully separated conjoined twins after 25 hours of surgery.
Dr. Lehfeldt is a member of the surgical teaching faculty at the University of Southern California Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He instructs plastic surgery residents in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and is involved in educational conferences at USC. He is also an integral part of the resident teaching staff at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California and the Dermatology Residency Program of Western University / Pacific Hospital of Long Beach.

Prior to devoting his time exclusively to the practice of Dermatology, Dr. Jack Griffith, completed three years of Emergency Medicine Residency Training at a busy county hospital with regional trauma and burn centers. During this time Dr. Griffith treated patients with life threatening dermatologic conditions including total body surface burns and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. He also received advanced training in surgical/dermatologic procedures such as split thickness skin grafting, escharotomies, complex facial laceration repairs and full thickness scalp and body laceration repairs.
Dr. Griffith graduated in the top ten percent of his medical school class, he also holds a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Griffith remains an active member of his medical school alma mater often returning to instruct first and second year medical students on perfecting their physical exam skills.
Dr. Griffith eagerly joins the practice in June 2007.

Dr. Griffith remains an active member of his medical school alma mater often returning to instruct first and second year medical students on perfecting their physical exam skills.

Dr. Scott Deckelbaum
Dr. Deckelbaum received his Bachelors of Science and Medical Degree from Nova Southeastern University where he graduated with Honors and a member of National Osteopathic Honor Society. He then completed a Family Medicine Residency in Albany , NY where he was given the distinct honor of receiving the Predoctoral Teaching Award two years in a row for exceptional commitment and dedication to teaching Medical Students. After graduating residency and receiving his Board Certification in Family Medicine, he completed a Faculty Development Fellowship and joined the Albany Medical Center Department of Family Medicine as an Assistant Professor. He spent 3 years in clinical practice and teaching residents and medical students in all aspects of Primary Care Medicine. Dr. Deckelbaum has a strong academic interest in Dermatology. He joined the practice in July of 2009 and is looking forward to an exciting career in Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Dr. Helia Eragi
Dr. Eragi joined Coast Dermatology in July 2010 and specializes in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Eragi graduated with high honors from University of California Los Angeles with a BS in neuroscience and received her DO degree from Western University of Health Sciences with honors ranking top 10% of her class. She has been awarded the Clem Parsons Memorial Award and has been on the National Dean's List for her outstanding academic performance.
Dr. Eragi is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, Golden Key Society and Sigma Sigma Phi Honor society. She has also been on several medical missions to Sinoloa Mexico and Kenya with non profit organizations providing health care for the underserved communities. Her vast experience in medicine has made Dr. Eragi a forerunner in the medical field.
Dr. Eragi has done presentations on various dermatologic diseases and has been published in several dermatology journals. Dr. Eragi is fluent in English and Farsi. When she's not practicing medicine, she enjoys fitness training, running, swimming, traveling and reading.

Dr. Michael Kassardjian
Dr. Michael Kassardjian is a native of the South Bay, and prior to joining Coast Dermatology he was involved in various medical research projects and dermatologic publications. While earning his Bachelor's degree at Claremont McKenna College, Dr. Kassardjian gained international research experience at Pasteur Institute in Paris, France. Dr. Kassardjian was also part of an extensive study at Harbor UCLA focusing on infectious dermatologic diseases in HIV patients. Additionally, while in medical school at Touro University, Dr. Kassardjian's strong interest in dermatology as well as dermatologic surgery evolved, and he participated in research in Mohs micrographic surgery and the use of confocal microscopy at Loma Linda University.

Marty Knott, M.S.N., R.N.
Marty is a graduate of the University of Iowa and UCLA. She was self-employed as a nurse practitioner in "Physical and Vocational Rehabilitation" for 10 years. During that time, she developed an interest in the cosmetic specialty of medicine.
Many of her patients required reconstructive surgery following catastrophic injuries. She understood the importance of having an acceptable physical appearance, and became knowledgeable in the fields of prosthesis as well as Botox, Collagen, and laser hair procedures. Her education then evolved into a hands-on approach using lasers. She has continued to grow in her knowledge of lasers while employed at Coast Dermatology.

Leah Roscoe
Leah is a licensed esthetician who specializes in skin care. Leah is trained to recognize and treat skin conditions including fine lines, dehydration, acne, uneven skin tone, and more. Leah uses specialized products and techniques to maintain and improve the patients' appearance. She continues to pursue her education in order to stay current with the most up to date products and procedures.
