Larger varicose veins can
be treated with a state-of-the-art European technique
called ambulatory phlebectomy. In this procedure, veins
can be removed through a series of tiny incisions in
the skin.
What is the recovery
time like?
Ambulatory Phlebectomy can be done in approximately
one hour on an outpatient basis. This procedure offers
a recovery period of a day or two with a leg wrap the
patient wears for about a week. The procedure leaves
tiny marks, no larger than a needle point, which often
fade over time. The complication rate of Ambulatory
Phlebectomy is very low, in only 5 percent of cases,
bruising, lumpiness and pigmentation may occur, and
even then are temporary.
Is Ambulatory
Phlebectomy Painful?
We use tumescent anesthesia for a pain-free procedure.
